{"id":64,"date":"2013-04-09T17:37:15","date_gmt":"2013-04-09T17:37:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ctfarmland.org\/site\/?page_id=64"},"modified":"2021-04-08T10:38:57","modified_gmt":"2021-04-08T14:38:57","slug":"mission","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/ctfarmland.org\/site\/about-2\/mission\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>The mission of Connecticut Farmland Trust is to preserve Connecticut farmland for current and future generations of farmers. &nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr>\n<p>To further this mission, the Connecticut Farmland Trust:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 accepts donations of agricultural conservation easements and farmland, <br>\u2022 purchases agricultural conservation easements and farmland, <br>\u2022 partners with towns and land trusts to identify threatened farms and opportunities for land protection and to help address farmland stewardship and management concerns, and <br>\u2022 partners with communities throughout the state to encourage local farmland preservation efforts through outreach and support to farmers, local land trusts, local officials, town planners, conservation commissions, and community organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Values<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>FUTURE OF FARMING: We believe in the enduring value\nof farmland and the need to protect our agricultural land base to ensure the\nlong-term future of farming in Connecticut. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HONESTY &amp; INTEGRITY: We prioritize honesty, integrity,\nand fiscal responsibility in all of our transactions, and seek to provide\nexcellent service in all that we do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>URGENCY: We share an urgency for achieving the\nstatewide goals for farmland protection, understanding the finite nature of our\nstate\u2019s prime farmland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RESPONSIVENESS: We value our relationships with\nlandowners, farmers, and farm families, and work hard to understand and support\ntheir individual conservation needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DIVERSITY: We believe all facets of the\nagricultural economy in Connecticut are integral to its success.
