Pears and Pairings: A Farm Tour and Brandy Tasting Fundraiser
This is the first year that Westford Hill Distillers will open their visitor center!
We are so happy to share the good vibes and great flavors that Westford Hill Distillers has to offer.
Come join us on a behind-the-scenes tour to discover the art of distilling fine brandy. Westford Hill Distillers is now the producer of some of the finest brandies and spirits in the United States. The awards have been both national and international, and Westford Hill Distillers was selected by the Smithsonian to represent the crafts spirits movement in the History of Food series several years ago.
The tour will be lead by owners Louis and Margaret Chatey as they tell the stories of the property and share the secrets of the European style brandies that they lovingly create. The tour is followed by a tasting of their artisan cocktails and a casual lunch on the historic 100-year Chatey family-owned farm.
For those who choose not to do a cocktail tasting and would prefer water or soda, CFT will make it available.

We are pleased to offer Goat Yoga hosted by the fantastic Goat Yoga farm, Aussakita Acres Farm.
Come socialize with baby goats, friendly adult goats and their farm friends as you flow through a fun All Levels Yoga Class outside on our beautiful farm. Taught by Danuta from YogaPerk.
Goats are very friendly, funny, love people and are also very mischievous. Be prepared to laugh a lot and have a good time because goats just make you happy!!

Experience: You need no prior yoga experience. You can either be an experienced Yogi or a complete novice. This fun, farm activity is a great way to interact and learn about the animals and Yoga too.
- Please come at least 15 mins early to fill out paper work.
- Bring your own mat or towel.
- Age minimum 8 years old.
- The rain date in June 1.
There is plenty of parking on site. Please park behind the garage or in the drive way. Do Not park on the street. Thank You.
BONUS! After you are all stretched and have pet all the baby goats, the owners of Aussakita Acres Farm have been kind enough to open up their farm for attendees. You will be able to see all the various farm animals and take in the sights.

We are celebrating the protection of our 50th Protected Farm since our beginning in 2002. Since Bristol’s Farm in Canton is our fiftieth farm, we are thrilled to have a little celebration at the farm, and we would like to invite you to join us that day. We are inviting our friends, supporters, project partners and of course, the farmland owners of all 50 farms.

This Farm Summit in Portland provides an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas and to learn about Farm to Table Collaborative, Agritourists, Farmer’s Markets, and Subscription Farming. The organizers welcome farmers in the Portland and surrounding town’s area.

We know many of you are stuck at home and feeling the stress of events surrounding isolation. Exercise can help boost our mental state as well as our physical health. In the spirit of social distancing (and fun), here is our brand new 5K event.
We are keeping it simple!
Here’s how it works:
Register by Friday, June 5th, and then run anytime on Saturday, June 6th. Sign up and plan to run or walk 3.1 miles on Saturday, June 6th. It does not matter if you run or walk or use a treadmill or bring your dog. This run is meant to be done right in your comfort zone.
After your run, post a picture on social media of yourself after your workout with the #ranforfarmland hashtag, and with @ctfarmland tagged on Facebook or Instagram. You can even just email our outreach staff a photo so we can toot your horn online.
Here are two secrets:
- You don’t have to run near a farm; we just love fun alliteration.
- We won’t tattle if you sign up to provide a donation but skip the run.
Here’s some advice from the New York Times May article, How to Run a Virtual Race: “It’s still a race, even if you don’t have a bib attached to your shirt. So do what you’d do on a more ordinary race day: Plan your nutrition and hydration, lay out your race outfit, and guilt your friends and family members into cheering for you. Once you finish (we recommend a toilet paper finish line, if possible)…celebrate your accomplishment. The race may look a bit different than expected. But miles are miles.”
Farmland Conservation 101

If you are interested in protecting your family’s farmland, then this is your premier learning opportunity.
Join CFT’s Executive Director, Elisabeth Moore, as she presents an overview of how farmland preservation works. Through dynamic and varied examples of CFT farmland preservation projects, she will offer a look into how conservation can work for you.
What is an agricultural easement? How will I know if this is right for me and my family’s land? What is the process for protecting my land?
There will be a question-and-answer period where these, and other questions will be answered.
Ask an Expert: Webinar Series
Experts are coming to your living rooms and kitchens this spring. CFT staff and guest experts to share knowledge and learn from each other once a week, mid-May through mid-June.
This series will help land stewards gain knowledge about farmland preservation and also elevate how we think about land trusts. You can meet guests who will answer the questions, How does farmland preservation work? and What else can a land trust do in addition to protecting land?
