A second piece of the Williams Farm was protected after it was purchased by Cushman Farms in 2014. Cushman Farms is a member of the Farmer’s Cow, and one of the few dairy herds in Connecticut that continues to grow and expand. The 89 acre piece will be used as dairy support land, it will produce hay and silage for Cushman’s growing herd.
Cushman Farms and the Farmer’s Cow provide fresh, Connecticut milk to local consumers and will continue to support a local, sustainable food system in the state.
Williams Farm II was protected with help from the 1772 Foundation, the Town of Lebanon, and the CT Department of Agriculture.
