Little Pond Farm, Stonington

Protected by: Connecticut Farmland Trust
Year Protected: 2010
Acres: 96

Thomas and Dorothea Cannan donated a conservation easement to Connecticut Farmland Trust on their 96-acre farm before selling it.  The property has 63 acres of crop fields, all of which are covered by prime and statewide important agricultural soils.  Formerly used as pasture for horses and cattle, the farm’s fields are now leased to local dairy farmer for hay and corn production.  Little Pond Farm is adjacent to a 148-acre agricultural and forestry property protected by Stonington Land Trust and is within two miles of approximately 500 acres of active farmland.

The farm is privately owned and is not open to the public.
