At Connecticut Farmland Trust, our commitment to protecting working lands isn’t just about what we do today; it’s about making a lasting promise to future generations.
That’s why we’ve worked hard to meet the highest national standards for land conservation —and why we’re proud to be accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
In 2012, Connecticut Farmland Trust became one of the first land trusts in the state — and one of just 181 in the nation at the time — to earn the commission’s gold standard of excellence.
Accreditation isn’t permanent. Every five years, land trusts must prove they continue to meet rigorous standards. We successfully renewed our accreditation in 2017 and again in 2023.
What Does Accreditation Mean?
It means we’re held accountable for how we operate — financially, ethically, and organizationally. It confirms that we are:
- Responsible stewards of the land
- Governed with transparency and integrity
- Committed to sound financial practices
- Built to uphold conservation promises that last forever
The accreditation seal is more than a symbol. It’s conveying a promise that the farmland we protect will remain farmland, always.
