Gifts of Real Estate

Home > Ways to Give > Gifts of Real Estate

Are you interested in donating your house, farm, a second home or business, a retirement home or a piece of property that was part of your investments?

The property doesn’t have to be in Connecticut.

We are skilled at real estate and can simplify the process for you.

A gift of real estate would likely qualify for a tax deduction for the full value of your gift.

  • We accept gifts of real estate, such as farms, urban and suburban lots, residential properties, and commercial buildings.
  • In each case we would evaluate if there was conservation importance of the property. If so, we would conserve it prior to resale and sell it to a conservation buyer.
  • Funds from the sale of the property would be applied to our conservation programs including conserving additional farms, enhancing farm viability, and supporting long-term conservation initiatives.

Your gift can make a significant impact on our ability to help Connecticut’s farmers and conserve critical farmland.

Prior to accepting such a generous gift, our staff and board would work with you to determine if the organization could accept it.
